English*, MIL (Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, Bodo, Alt. English), Environmental Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology.*Students of H.S., First Year in the streams of Arts and Science are to compulsorily undergo a Reading and Oral Skill test (of 10 marks) in the subject of English- which is in addition to their theory paper (of 90 marks) on the subject. The sum total of marks in the subject thus is: 100. The said test is conducted by the concerned department.
a) Under the guidelines and rules of Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, for all Higher Secondary students English and MIL/Alt. English are compulsory subjects. From the rest of the subjects they have to compulsorily choose three Elective Subjects. They may also take up a fourth Elective Subject of their choice. Environmental Science is compulsory for HS First Year students of all streams.
b) The curricular framework of the AHSEC is similar to that of the CBSE under changes envisioned by the National Curricular Framework of Secondary and Senior Secondary Education, 2005.
c) The Annual Examination of Higher Secondary First Year is conducted by the Examination Committee of the College under the strict guidelines of the AHSEC. The Final Examination is conducted by the AHSEC of which the College is a recognized examination centre.
d) Students enrolled in Higher Secondary programmes are required to appear in two Unit Tests as specified by the AHSEC. So, they are expected to be regular and sincere in their learning endeavours.
